A lot of people assume that to make a living at voice over one should be able to do a lot of different “voices”. Thankfully, that’s not the case. In fact, most successful voice talents know how to be nothing other than themselves behind the mic. There is, however, a market for those out there who can embody the voice of other celebrities. If you can do a perfect Morgan Freeman, Mike Rowe or John Krasinski, you will be very successful indeed and it always impresses me how much some people can change their voice and how accurately they can embody other people. The natural pitch and timber of a voice have little to do with it, it’s all in the tempo and delivery.
